Batch Geocoding does nothing, no fail, no success

When I batch geocode my entries, the page just shows me an animated gif indefinitely.  I never turn up any locations as failing geocode, nor do I successfully geocode any locations.

I've looked at the docs and seem to be doing everything right.  My addresses are very standard format US addresses.   

How long would batch geocoding 50 entries usually take? Does the Batch Geocoder ever say when it is finished?

Any ideas why I'm not getting any response in the control panel either way?
